Tarihçe Köye ilk yerleşim MÖ 250-1000 arası olarak bilinmektedir. Malazgirt Savaşından sonra Türkler tarafından fethedildiğinde yerleşim yeri olarak çok beğenilmiştir. O sıralarda Daday ve Kastamonu'da sel felaketleri yaşanırken bu köyde yaşam aksamayınca adı dönemin uç beyi Evrenus(Evrenoz) tarafından Selalmaz konmuştur. Köyün iklimi, Karadeniz iklimi etki alanı içerisindedir. Kastamonu iline 60 km, Daday ilçesine 30 km, Karabük Eflani ilçesine ise 20 km uzaklıktadır. Altyapı Bilgileri Köyümüzde yatılı ilköğretim okulu vardır taşımalı eğitim de yapılmaktadır. Köyümüzün tüm mahallelerinde içme suyu şebekesi varken kanalizasyon şebekesi mevcut değildir. Köyümüzde Türkcel ve Vodafone GSM hatlarından güçlü sinyal alınırken Türk Telekom sinyal gücü zayıftır. Sağlık evi vardır fakat faal değildir. Köye ulaşımı sağlayan yol asfalt olup yakın tarihte Eflani-Daday arası yol yapım çalışmasının tamamlanması beklenmektedir, çalışmalar devam etmektedir. Elektrik ve sabit telefon vardır.İnternet altyapısı tüm mahallelerimize 1-5 Megabyte değişen değerlerde hız sunmaktadır. Yalnızca sabahları köyden İlçe merkezine yolcu minibüsü kalkmaktadır. Köyümüzde tarım ve hayvancılık günden güne gelişmektedir.Yaşlı nüfus genç nufusa oranla yüksektir.
