AKSARAY ÜNİVERSİTESİ
**AKSARAY UNIVERSITESI** Bakanlar Kurulu tarafından, 2006 yılı içinde kurulması kabul edilen bir devlet üniversitesidir. 17 Mart 2006 tarihli 26111 sayılı Resmi Gazete'de yayınlanan 5467 sayılı kanunla Niğde Üniversitesi' ne bağlı iken adı ve bağlantısı değiştirilerek, fakülte ve yüksekokullar kendi bünyesinde oluşturulan Aksaray Üniversitesi Rektörlüğe bağlanmıştır. Rektör Prof. Dr. Mustafa ACAR'dır. Aksaray Üniversitesi'nde 9 Fakülte, 4 Yüksekokul, 6 Meslek Yüksekokulunda ön lisans ve lisans düzeyinde eğitim yapılmaktadır. Lisansüstü eğitim üniversiteye bağlı Fen ve Sosyal Bilimler enstitüleri bünyesinde sürdürülmektedir. Üniversitemizde Fakülteler bazında 6388, Yüksekokullarda 1270, Meslek Yüksek Okullarında 4683 ve Enstitülerde 653 olmak üzere toplamda 12994 öğrencisi vardır. Akademik Kadrolar bakımından ise 14 Profesör, 38 Doçent, 168 Yardımcı Doçent, 114 Öğretim Görevlisi, 29 Okutman, 16 Uzman, 191 Araştırma Görevlisi olmak üzere toplamda 570 öğretim elemanı görev yapmaktadır.
